Andrés is a Founding Partner & Senior Consultant at One South. Andrés has led several evaluations for education, agriculture and health-related programs. Andrés has significant expertise in advanced statistical methods and evaluation design. He is a seasoned advocate of utilization-focused evaluation. Andrés currently leads the following divisions at One South: Research, Professional Development, and Quality Assurance.

Tariq is a Founding Partner & Senior Consultant at One South. Tariq has led evaluations for education, health, and advocacy projects and programs. He also coordinates the firm's monitoring support services. As well as having advanced statistical training, Tariq has significant experience designing and implementing participatory research approaches. He currently leads the following divisions: Account Management, Business Development, and Operations.

Dr. Tim Malcomson

Tim has 30 years of experience in education, programme management, and capacity building. He previously served as the Global Child Protection Advisor for GOAL Global, where he provided leadership in programme design, quality and cross- country coherence to 14 country programmes. Tim has expertise in using action research approaches with a strong partner focus to design, implement and review projects and programmes. He has significant experience in capacity building having developed comprehensive but pragmatic risk assessment, planning, review and HR systems and tools and trained multiple country teams on their implementation. Tim holds a PhD in education. His PhD research focused on partnership building, networking and coalition building. Tim has led projects and directed several research engagements focused on street children and youth.

Senior Consultant

Marieke holds a PhD in Cross-Cultural Psychology and is currently a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Hagen. Her research concerns topics of education and psychology in a cultural perspective. At One South, she has developed and adapted psychometric measures  for evaluation and planning purposes. She has supported several evaluations for projects targeting pyscho-social, educational and behavior change outcomes.

Joanna Seth-Smith

Jo is a development practitioner with significant experience managing and coordinating sexual and reproductive health education programming for organizations in Malawi. Jo was previously the Head of Education for Theatre for a Change, an SRHR and gender-focused organization, where she managed a portfolio of seven projects focusing on education and advocacy around SRHR, gender equality, GBV and child protection.


Eva is development management specialist, with a strong background answering evaluation questions related to effectiveness and efficiency. At One South, she has supported project evaluations targeting behavior change and education outcomes. Eva previously provided technical assistance to the Office of Evaluation and Oversight at the Inter-American Development Bank.

Mariana is an anthropologist with specialized experience working in health promotion and behavior change. She has previously supported health projects in rural Kenya, Iraq, Brazil, and Venezuela. At One South, Mariana provides expert guidance on qualitative methods and analysis, and ethnographic approaches to research and evaluation. Mariana is currently completing her second masters degree in Sexololgy. 

Tony de Silva

Tony provides both quantitative and qualitative analysis support to a wide-range of projects at One South. He holds a MA in Comparative Local Development from the Corvinus University of Budapest in partnership with the University of Regensburg, the University of Trento and the University of Ljubljana. His previous research has examined the effectiveness of different approaches to integrate Hungary’s Roma population. Tony also holds a BA in Business and Non-Profit Management from Earlham College.

Associate Consultant

Inga is a disability and inclusion specialist, whose research examines narratives surrounding work, welfare and disability. She is currently completing her PhD at the School of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Leeds through funding from the Rosa-Luxemburg Foundation. At One South, Inga provides technical expertise on projects targeting youth and people who experience impairments.

Associate Consultant

Rose Nyambi has over 6 years of experience in the fields of education, gender, sexual reproductive health, and economic empowerment in Malawi. She currently supports One South's research activities in Malawi as a Field Manager and is responsible for team deployment and the management of data collection activities.
