We build teams of diverse specialists to develop and carry out targeted and inclusive planning, monitoring and evaluation. Many assignments also rely on the support of our global network of in-country partners, as we believe that localizing research for development ensures the sustainability of our achievements.
Meet the team
Founding Member & Principal Consultant
Andrés is a Founding Member & Principal Consultant at One South. He has over 10 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning and has led evaluations for projects working in health, education, and advocacy in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Andrés has advanced methods training and has significant experience in capacity building, training, and research design. He has led several multi-country evaluations and works closely with One South's in-country research team to support innovative research in hard to reach areas. Andrés has deisgned and facilitated several training courses for young professionals. He holds a MSc in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics and a BA in Integrated Social Sciences with a specialization in research methods from Jacobs University Bremen.
Tariq is a Founding Member of One South. He advises the firm and has oversight of the organization's delivery of its mission and strategy. Tariq previously co-managed One South, leading a team of MERL professionals and providing strategic guidance, vision, and management in the implementation of planning, monitoring, evaluation activities for a wide portfolio of clients. He has over 10 years of experience in MERL and has led evaluations for projects working in education, health, gender and private sector development in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. He holds a MSc in International Relations Theory from the London School of Economics and a BA in International Politics and History (IPH) with a specialization in research methods from Jacobs University Bremen.
Eva is a development management specialist and is a Consultant at One South. She provides monitoring and evaluation services to projects working in entrepreneurship, health and education. Eva has supported a range of projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America. This has included projects supporting the economic empowerment of youth through digital inclusion, projects promoting improved instructional practices amongst teachers in schools, and projects supporting health access. She has advanced methods training and significant experience in participatory methods of evaluation. She holds a MSc in Development Management from the London School of Economics and a BA in International Politics and History (IPH) with a specialization in research methods from Jacobs University Bremen.
James is a Consultant at One South. James has supported projects in Africa and Asia including projects targeting entrepreneurship, health, and education outcomes. He has also coordinated several large-scale and mixed-methods data collection activities and supports One South's in-country partners to carry out research activities with high fidelity to design. He has significant experience in capacity building, project management, and logistics.
Jo is a Consultant at One South andhas significant experience managing sexual and reproductive health education programs with a focus on gender and social inclusion. At One South, Jo has supported several assignments in education, health, gender, advocacy and entrepreneurship. Jo has conducted multi-country evaluations for health projects and has supported several project design activities.
Marieke van Egmond
Marieke is a Research Advisor for One South. She holds a PhD in Cross-cultural psychology. Marieke's research examines topics relating to education and psychology from a cross-cultural perspective. At One South, she has developed and adapted psychometric measures for evaluation of education and behavior change projects in several countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.
